Which NHL Team Should You Really Be Cheering For?

When you are a hockey enthusiast, you already know how difficult it is to pick a team. There are a lot of extraordinary teams to pick from! And you might get confused about selecting the team of your favorite hockey players. So, I have compiled a list of the top five hockey teams for you to consider rooting for.

If you are wondering what NHL team should I root for? It depends on a team’s performance, your favorite player’s team, and the team’s reputation in society. If a team is at a high level in these aspects you can consider that team to cheer for.

Factors to be considered for choosing the team to root for

  • First and foremost, let’s discuss what constitutes a good team. The first thing to consider is which sort of team you would like to support. Do you want a team that has deep roots in the community and has been around for a long time? Maybe you’d rather support an expansion team that’s been playing for only a few years but has already made a name for itself as an up-and-coming contender.
  • Another thing to consider when choosing an NHL team is where your favorite players play. There are many great players on each team may be even players who have won awards or trophies in the past so it’s important to know which ones are currently playing with your favorite squad. You might also want to consider whether or not any of your other favorite athletes play on that same team (and if they do, there’s an even better chance they’ll be able to come through during playoff time).
  • Finally, consider how well each team has performed this season and whether or not they have any new additions scheduled for next year. If they’re going through some growing pains right now but everything.

What hockey team should I cheer for?

Choosing a hockey team to cheer for can be a personal decision based on various factors. Some people choose to support their local team, while others choose based on their favorite players, history, or team culture. Here are some things to consider when deciding which hockey team to support:

  • Toronto Maple Leafs
  • Montreal Canadians
  • Edmonton Oilers
  • Calgary Flames
  • Vancouver Canucks
  • Location: If you live near a hockey team, consider supporting your local team. This can be a great way to feel connected to your community and enjoy the shared experience of supporting a local team.
  • Personal connection: If you have a personal connection to a certain team, such as a family member or friend who is a fan, it can be a great reason to choose that team.
  • Style of play: Consider the style of play of different teams and choose a team that aligns with your own hockey preferences. For example, do you prefer a fast-paced, high-scoring team or a more defensive-minded team?
  • History and success: Consider the history and success of different teams. Do you want to support a team with a rich history and a championship pedigree, or are you looking for a team on the rise that you can grow with?

Ultimately, the most important factor is your enjoyment of the team and the sport. Choose a team that you can get behind and that you will enjoy watching and supporting.

Geography

The National Hockey League (NHL) is a major league founded in 1917 and played its first season in 1917–18. In 2017, the NHL had revenues of around $4.1 billion U.S. dollars, up from just under $3 billion U.S. dollars in 2010.

The NHL’s main revenue source is from media rights deals; it is currently the fourth most lucrative professional sports league in the world by revenue. The NHL imposes a salary cap on player salaries and only allows one team per city.

Support the team of the city or region where you grew up or were born

If we are to support any NHL team, it would be of course the one we are watching and liked for a long period of time. I didn’t grow up anywhere abroad but my friend lives in the city of Calgary. When he was young, he used to come with his parents to meet us and we would chit-chat a lot about our favorite teams. He told me that living in a big city would be exciting.

Will he be a Flames, Oilers, Senators, or Maple Leaf fan depending on his background? Surprisingly, he is a fan of the Vancouver Canucks, the team he grew up with.

I know what it’s like to live in a small town: you have to make your own fun and get creative when it comes to entertainment. But if you’re willing to put in the effort, you’ll find that there are plenty of ways to connect with other people and make friends while still keeping your privacy intact. And even though there aren’t as many jobs available in these smaller towns, they’re filled with opportunities for those who want them whether that means starting your own business or working part-time at a local business.

  • I believe that everyone should be able to live wherever they want—and while some people choose big cities because they think they offer more opportunities or are more exciting places than smaller towns do, I think there are some pretty great things about small towns too!
  • Likewise, my friend and I have been following the team my whole life—and they have always been a source of pride for me.
  • My family and I attended matches every weekend when I was a kid. It was an activity that brought us together and made us feel like we were part of something bigger than ourselves.
  • I’ve always admired how well-rounded their players are, how committed they are to win, and how much they care about their community. And now that I’m older and working in this industry myself, I appreciate them even more because of how much I can relate to their commitment to excellence and teamwork.

Rally behind the team your parents support

The next time your parents ask you to support their favorite team, do it. It’s a great opportunity to show them that you care about them and want to be part of their lives, even if you don’t share the same values as they do. You can also learn a lot by experiencing something new with them, and maybe even make some new friends who have similar interests.

If you don’t agree with what they’re doing or who they’re rooting for, try to see their point of view and understand why they feel so strongly about someone or something. And if you do support them in their decision, just know that you can always change your mind later!

Rally-Behind-The-Team

You don’t necessarily have the best view of the world when you’re a youngster. But as adults, we know that one of the most important things we can do is to rally behind our friends and family when they need us most. They provide support through their training programs and rehabilitation services, as well as by providing food and shelter when necessary.

Teams with History

The NHL is a league with a rich history. Teams like the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Detroit Red Wings have been around for decades, making them some of the most storied franchises in all sports. Here are some of the teams with historical backgrounds:

Teams-With-History
  • The Vegas Golden Knights: The Golden Knights were only founded in 2017 and have already won their division twice in a row. They’ve also advanced to the Western Conference Finals thrice.
  • The Sharks of San Jose: The Sharks are one of the NHL’s oldest franchises, having debuted in 1991 as an expansion team. They’ve won five division titles since then and made it to the Stanley Cup Final twice (in 2016 and 2018).
  • The Nashville Predators: The Predators were founded in 1998 when Nashville was awarded an expansion franchise by the NHL after its relocation from Winnipeg (where it was called the Jets). Since then, they’ve made it to two Stanley Cups Finals appearances (in 2017 and 2019), winning one of them against the Pittsburgh Penguins last year!
  • The Montreal Canadiens: The Canadiens were founded in 1909, which makes them one of the oldest teams in all professional sports. They won their first Stanley Cup in 1924, and have won 24 more since then! The Canadiens are also known for having some of the best players to ever play hockey on their roster, including Maurice Richard and Jean Beliveau.
  • The Toronto Maple Leafs: The Leafs were founded in 1917, making them nearly as old as the Canadiens. They’ve won 13 Stanley Cup titles over their long history, but they haven’t won one since 1967 and they’ve been trying since then!

Favorite Player

The NHL has a longstanding tradition of producing outstanding players and teams. Although it’s difficult to choose a favorite, there are a few that stand out above the rest. When it comes to favorites, I’m going to have to go with Wayne Gretzky. He’s the all-time leading scorer in NHL history, and he did it playing for my favorite team: The Edmonton Oilers.

  • Gretzky began his career with the Great Falls Americans of the Western Hockey League (WHL), where he led the team in scoring as a rookie with 133 points in 77 games.
  • Gretzky would have made it onto my list even if he hadn’t played for my favorite team, but when you add in the fact that he also won four Stanley Cups with the Oilers including one during which he scored 51 goals. It becomes clear why this guy is one of my all-time favorites!
  • In 1980-81 he became the youngest player to ever win the Stanley Cup at the age of 18 years old and followed that up with another Stanley Cup victory in 1984-85. He also won an MVP award (Hart Memorial Trophy) during this period as well as three Lady Byng Trophies which are awarded to players who show sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct while on ice.
  • His career ended prematurely due to injury but his achievements have been recognized throughout history as one of Canada’s greatest hockey legends who has inspired many generations since then through his actions both on and off the ice!

New Shiny Toy

The Vegas Golden Knights are the NHL’s new shiny toy. The expansion team has been nothing short of a revelation in their first year, with an amazing record of 43-17-4 and a current standing as the top seed in the Western Conference. They’ve already broken multiple records for an expansion team, and it seems like every night they’re breaking another one.

  • They’re not only winning titles but also overpowering them. They have only missed one game by more than two goals, and their average score is +2.5 goals a game.
  • Moreover, they lead the league in goal differential (+57), shots on goal (+1,965), faceoff percentage (+59%), and power-play percentage (+45%). And if that wasn’t enough, they have also allowed fewer goals than any other team in the league (124).

What’s even more impressive is that they have done all of this without being able to draft any players from other leagues or teams—they’re strictly made up of players who were already in the NHL at some point before this season began. The only exceptions are former Columbus Blue Jackets goalie Calvin Pickard (who was signed after he was cut from training camp) and former New York.

Conclusion: Which NHL Team Should You Really Be Cheering For?

If you’re looking for a team that’s going to be exciting and fun to watch, but also has a great shot at winning the Stanley Cup, your best bet is to root for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

They’re a team with a lot of young talent, and they’ve got a coach who knows how to win (and how to get his players ready for it). They’re also in the Eastern Conference, which means that they have fewer games against teams in their division than other teams do. That means less travel time and fewer chances for injury, so they’ll be able to focus on making the playoffs instead of just surviving them.
